As we all went into the first day of the SEMA show, we had anticipations of some crazy new cars, new trends and new companies breaking through into the market. Our expectations were far exceeded just looking through one hall of the huge show. The vehicle of choice for this year’s show was without a doubt the new Honda Civic Si. With Honda sending out several cars to the heavy hitters in the industry, the Honda booth was flooded with customized brand new Civic Si models from the likes of GReddy, AEM, RJ de Vera and Skunk2 to name a few. One of the hottest ’06 Civic Si that was on the floor was built by TEIN. Sporting a crazy widebody setup and TEIN graphics, the Si was stealing the show as one of the nicest ones out. We got a chance to take a few shots for the public to see first!

Another new model that hit the floor hard was the new Mitsubishi Eclipse. Several companies have already jumped on the aftermarket with some great results. The drifting craze has continued to spread along with some pleasant surprises from the drag racing community. On display was a Sport FWD Scion tC baring the names of AEM’s Tyler Hara and the former Leslie Durst (now married as Armendariz) – be on the look out for this Sport FWD wonder hitting the track early on in 2006.

Other highlights that we are bringing from day one’s coverage are an interview with the one and only President and Founder of Spoon Sports of Japan. We touch on a few topics and what we can expect from Spoon Sports in the years to come. There just isn’t a JDM junky out there that doesn’t have a passion for Spoon Sports.

The Turtle Wax S14.5 built by Neil Tjin was also given away today. A lucky lady that is also a model will be bringing the car home at the end of the SEMA show. Congratulations!
