Formula Drift Round 5: Breaking Point

The FormulaD drifting event at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington was the first rain event ever run in FD history. Despite the slippery conditions, it proved to be arguably the most exciting event as well with fans packing the wet grandstands and cheering on the competitors.

It was easy to tell who had previous rain racing experience as the final four, Rhys Millen, Samuel Hubinette, Tanner Foust and Robbie Nishida were all well versed rally, ice, rain and snow drifters. However, there was only to be one champion and that was Rhys Millen in his Red Bull Pontiac Solstice as he battled Sam Hubinette's Mopar Dodge Viper in a very close final round. Tanner Foust made an uncharacteristic mistake, spinning out, costing him third place which went to Robbie Nishida in the Hankook/Peak Performance 350Z.
