2008 Mitsubishi EVO X - '08 Sema Show
As Belts Tighten, Domestics And Imports Collide In Las Vegas

It's no secret that import enthusiasts and domestic motorheads get along like skate boarders and security guards, but at the '08 SEMA Show this "continental divide" seemed larger than ever. The domestics were out in full force with Mopar muscle in the form of the Dodge Challenger, while Bow Tie fans had the '11 Camaro to clamor about. On the import front there were a surprising number of Nissan GT-Rs. Despite hitting the pavement a mere two months before the SEMA Show, many of the GT-Rs had substantial performance mods. The stalwart Evo X was again a hot-ticket item on the aisles of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
While some sport compact-oriented manufacturers were missing in action, due to the unruly economic landscape, the editors of Sport Compact Car went all out, grinding the rail and pullin' 720s in the half-pipe to shine the spotlight on a hip, insightful cross-section of parts, cars, glam, and the industry vibe of the '08 SEMA experience.
