1997 Toyota Supra Turbo & Obessions - Supra Obsession

Number 4: Your Supra looks mild, but it's so quick, it gets thrown off the track.

The track officials didn't give the Supra a second glance when Minert staged at the drags during the 2002 Supras Invade Las Vegas VI meet. After all, the car looks pretty stock, save the BFG Drag Radials on the back. But their attitude quickly changed when the Supra ran the quarter in 11.2 seconds at 126 mph.

Minert's day was done and he was given strict instructions not to return until the car had a proper roll cage.

Number 3: You drive it to work anyway.

This thing is a daily driver.

Number 2: Your kids are well-trained in Supra lore.

Minert spends quality time with his four kids by teaching them the finer points of Supra ownership and maintenance. They listen raptly because it means daddy is going to give them a ride in the car. His 12-year-old daughter deserves special note. You'd figure any pre-teen would rather be at a friend's house watching reruns of "Dawson's Creek" rather than spend time with her dad. Not Minert's daughter. Her favorite spot is in the passenger's seat of the Supra, showing daddy where those weak C5s are.

And Number 1: You have a separate garage for your Supra, complete with heat and every tool known to man.

Minert's home has a two-car garage, but that's for the family rigs. He built himself a separate structure just for his addiction where he and his pal, Matthew Whitaker, spend lots of time and money improving Supra upon Supra. In fact, Minert recently sold his Sapphire Obsession and replaced it with a '94 silver automatic. Guess it's time for a silver obsession.
