2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R And Spec-V - Just Driven

The widened torque band is perceptible when firing through the straights and it's a joy to use that muscle to power out of each corner. A welcome boost, but the old car was no slouch to begin with. All new models receive speed-sensitive steering, which, thankfully, does nothing to diminish the 350Z's excellent steering feel. The car is talkative and confidence-inspiring.

The Enthusiast edition is the closest replacement for the now-discontinued Track model, featuring a viscous limited-slip diff and traction control. Though it makes do without Brembo brakes, it sports larger rotors front and rear, with larger calipers up front.

At the other side of the spectrum is the Grand Touring edition, which sits on Rays wheels: 18-inch front and 19-inch rear. We can't be sure what performance benefit the staggered diameters offer, but the Brembo brakes on this model are distinct assets. The Grand Touring edition also features spoilers front and rear as well as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

Every new 350Z represents pretty good value for money. We haven't listed half of the 2007 model year changes, yet the new car checks in at just $250 more than the old one. So you can still get into a grunty six-speed sports car for less than $28,000.
