Go-Fast Mods: 2.5l USDM STI short-block, JDM ver.6 STI heads, intake manifold, and VF39 turbo, A'PEXi power intake, FMIC, Tial BOV, Invidia bellmouth DP, HKS exhaust, custom parallel rail setup, STI injectors 550cc, STI radiator, custom dual catchcans, Apexi Power FC with Commander, Blitz EBC, Z32 80mm MAF, JDM STI Type RA trans with R160 dif, ACT clutch/flywheel, Kartboy Short Shifter, Tein coilovers, WRX sway bar upgrade, Cusco rear strut bar, Subaru 4-pot front/ WRX rear brakes, Goodrich braided lines, Super Blue fluid.
Exterior: JDM ver.6 front lip, grille and foglight covers, JDM I Badge, WRX TR 17-inch wheels.
Interior: EVO8 Recaros on custom low sliders, STI black floormats, WC Lathe Werks shift knob, DEFI boost, EGT, oil pressure gauges, Innovate XD-16 wideband gauge, PowerFC commander, Blitz EBC, GReddy turbo timer.
Numbers: It made 290 whp on a mustang dyno with 380cc injectors, a maxed-out maf and no kind of fuel system.
Worst Mods: Going with the JDM ver.6 STI motor. I was green when I made the decision, and it has proved difficult to find all the necessary parts for the older motor, especially stateside, although it all worked out in the end.
Future Mods: SMC Meth injection kit and a built transmission.
Why I Chose This Platform: I fell in love with the Impreza as soon as I saw one, and I feel the older coupe has much more personality. These days there is a mass of highly modified STIs, but this car stands out from that crowd. It is much more unique.
Props/Thanks To: Tyler at SMOBYSPORT, my parents for buying me a short-block when I was in a real pinch and Forced Air Technology.
