When the sun set on the fourth-annual Modified Tuner Shootout and the points were tallied, the AQ Motorsports Subaru STI, piloted by JC Meynet, proved to be an unstoppable combination of man and machine, scoring near the top in every event. JC proved that a well built and sorted time attack car with a very capable driver is the key to a successful campaign in this Shootout. It’s also worthwhile to note that Subarus were a dominant force this year, placing first, second and fourth, respectively. Mitsubishis, which have been dominant in past competitions, have some catching up to do next year. Nevertheless, we hope next year’s Shootout will be even better, and we’re working on changing things up a bit to reduce the emphasis on big power and concentrate more on the other aspects of these vehicles.
