2000 VW Golf GLS 1.8T - Head Of The Family - Street Car

This Turbo Golf Was Supposed To Be A Family Car. Now It Runs 12.2 At 117 MPH

By Dan Passe

On the road, this unassuming ride has been known to take on the occasional unsuspecting muscle car or crotch rocket, and it has run a best of 12.2 seconds at 117 mph at the track. It also just completed a 2,500-mile road trip carrying Tyleska, his fiance and a ton of luggage, which proves the car's roadability. Tyleska says the Golf even averaged 28 mpg with the A/C blowing.

Hey, Corleone. I think we've found the new head of the family.
