2008 Chevy Cobalt, 2008 Ford Focus Coupe & Other News- Spin Out

Facts&Rumors,* Chevy has killed the Cobalt SS Supercharged for the 2008 model year. However, expect a Cobalt SS Turbocharged to appear just about the same time as the HHR SS, featuring a 260bhp version of the 2.0-liter Ecotec four aboard. That could be as early as the first quarter of 2008.

,* Ford doesn't have a lot of extra money at the moment. Despite that, we're hearing rumors of a high-performance version of the new 2008 Focus Coupe running around. And it may be branded as a Shelby. Think turbocharger. And think of it as a revival of the old Dodge Omni GLH-S, only 20 years later and from a different manufacturer. Or maybe it won't happen at all.

,* In Canada, a television ad for the new Mitsubishi Lancer (which has also been broadcast down here in the prettier part of North America) has been pulled for a 'normal review' after some safety advocates called for its removal. It depicts the Lancer speeding around freeway on-ramps and traveling under bridges at speed. Whatever.
