Kudos to Kia’s chief designer, Peter Schreyer, for his work on the Soul, Forte, Optima, Sportage — heck, the entire lineup has been stellar. Kia’s put some of the most seductive silhouettes on the road, and we love how the company has unified the look of its grillework to make Kia immediately recognizable. But as Captain Kirk used to say to Scotty when he pulled off a real miracle, “You have earned your pay for the week.” Schreyer earned his weekly due for the wicked all-new Kia GT Concept that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
This is the rear-drive concept that’s been hinted about for some time, and the results were worth the wait. The 4-door sedan is breathtaking, but look under the hood and hyperventilating ensues. The concept is motivated by a turbocharged 3.3-liter, direct-injected V-6 that is said to pound out 395 horses. Kia would be crazy not to get this gem in the pipeline. Next, they need a convertible.
