The Rally America Championship series kicked off in Atlanta, Michigan, home of the infamous Sno*Drift rally. This event was the first round of six championship events and it had a combination of snow, slush and ice, forcing the Sparco Rally xD to fall as far down as 5th in class after the first day of racing. After race day one, the team implemented some changes at the night service allowing driver Andrew Comrie-Picard to pilot the Sparco Rally xD to fight its way back up and finish on the podium taking 2nd in class.
The podium finish and awarded points will help the Rally xD team to achieve its goal for the championship this 2012 rally race season. The next event of the championship series takes ACP and the Sparco Rally xD team to Salem, Missouri, for the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, February 24-25.
