Responsibility
The word responsibility seems out of place when talking about something as irresponsible as auto racing. But before driving on the track you need to know that it's your ass. I know that I just said you need to watch your ass, and while I've stopped swearing in my writing at the request of some readers, I'll take the heat for this since it may be the only important thing I ever write. Watch your ass. You are responsible for yourself and your car on the track. Weather you're racing wheel to wheel or turning your first lap at a school, nobody else is obligated to pay for damage that happens to you. Another driver can crash into your car, destroying it, and paralyzing you. If you believe that they should be considered at all responsible for your suffering, do not go out on the racetrack.
Smile, And Take Lots Of Pictures
Whatever motorsports path you choose, be sure to enjoy it. You are one of the lucky ones that get to do it. Your career could be long but it will still feel short. Be sure to take plenty of photos and videos so your friends can enjoy it with you. Good luck and have fun. -Andy Hope
