These nuts holding the front of the downpipe/cat assembly are loosened. The stock items are single-use. The Team Moon exhaust came with new ones.

The Team Moon exhaust is simple; an inlet, outlet, and hangers welded to a Magnaflow silencer. It was the lightest, sounded the best and made the most power. It was also the only one with useful installation instructions.

The Team Moon exhaust replaces the stock spring/bolt fasteners at the cat/silencer junction with plaint bolts.

The driver's side rubber exhaust mount was welded to the arm on the can on our prototype car. A grinder freed it, or we could have relocated the lower driver's side mount to the upper posistion,as the lower one is not used with the Team Moon exahsut. The other exhausts required it, however.

The 5Zigen exhaust came with a black coating. It made a little more power than stock and sounded just slightly louder. Both Japanese exhauses had a main silencer folowed by a pipe going across the car to the driver's side and a small can at the tip. The secondary silencers are extremely well made, which is a god thing, as they are plainly visible with both systems. The resulting look, however, is a matter of individual taste.

This is all you see of the Team Moon exhaust when installed. We, and everyone who commented on the exhaust's appearance to us, kinf of like it that way. As you can see, it touched the rear fascia at first. Loosening the cat/silencer bolts, moving it, and retightening them gave it the perfect placement. If you drive the car as shown here, you will smell melting plastic.

The flanges on the 5Zigen exhaust's split weren't welded at quite the correct angle, so this gap remained while the other side made solid contact.

When the flange bolts were tightened, they lift the tip of the 5Zigen exhaust so its weight was no longer on the rubber hanger.

The Tanabe exhaust was silver and fit better than either of the others. Even without the "exit plug" installed, it sounded stock to our ears.

The Tanabe exhaust installed. The 5Zigen is very similar in appearance from this distance, except the piping is black.

KumoSport's Directshift conversion kit consists of these eight aluminum pucks that replace the stock rubber shifter mounts. They make the shifter as precise and solid as any, but do slightly increase notchiness when shifting fast.
