June2504__Subaru/SPT/EasyStreet Motorsports: EasyStreet Rocky Mountain Tour
The Subaru/SPT/Easystreet tour of the Rocky Mountain region has been a great success for the team and the dealers where they have been making appearances.
Afshar was thrilled with the show of support from the central region Subaru dealers.
"We have had some very successful dealership appearances and I have to thank everyone at Flat Irons Subaru especially John and Gary as well Rich at John Elway Subaru for helping to make the trip to the Colorado such a success."
"We have one more dealer appearance to make at Hueberger Subaru near Pikes Peak on Friday 25th of June and I am sure this will be a great event too. The Subaru central region has been totally fantastic to work with. I owe a big thanks to Larry Hasty, Betty Daunt and Tobin Hodge for all of their support and hard work." Despite suffering from some unexpected problems at the NHRA Sport Compact event at the Bandimere Speedway Ali Afshar managed to see the positive side of things after the team managed to battle through the weekend with a little help from some friends.
"We have had a very tough time in Colorado." Afshar commented. An aftermarket part turned out to be the cause of what was a very difficult series of problems to solve. Thankfully we had a lot of help from the Cox family (Joel, Joe and John) and the rest of the staff at Mike Shaw Subaru and Flat-4 engineering. We were very lucky to have so much support from all of the Denver area dealers in turning what could have been a total disaster into a very rewarding trip.
With the 2004 season at its mid-point the Subaru/SPT/Easystreet WRX will be making its next appearance at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in mid-July. Afshar is confident that the recent problems will be solved and the team will be back to its winning ways.
Every now and then you have to expect to see a problem or two, especially when you are pushing the limits as hard as we are.: He explained. "We have isolated the problem and the team engineers have a fix figured out so I am looking forward to making a real show of it in Vegas. It is always a well supported event with lots of fans and it should be a lot of fun."
The Subaru/SPT/Easystreet WRX has been heavily featured in several national magazines this month. The premier issue of Overrev Magazine has a full-color feature on the team and Turbo Magazine has a feature on the awesome Subaru Forester that was modified by Easystreet.
Racer Magazine also has a feature on the Subaru/SPT/Easystreet WRX and the team is also featured in Subaru's in-house Drive Magazine this month.
