Compact Discs

Tunnel Tested
Sparco's WTT line of helmets was created to define an industry standard combining aerodynamic efficiency with the highest level of safety. WTT stands for wind tunnel tested, and Sparco claims hundreds of hours of testing in the Fiat Research Center in Torino, Italy, to make sure the helmet design is virtually invisible to the wind. Other features include a 100-percent fiberglass shell construction, a Polystyrene foam padding that incorporates a unique air-channeling system to enhance driver comfort and an ultra-soft Nomex liner. The chinstrap is a fire-resistant aramidic fiber with a quick-pull safety tag, and the visor hardware is CNC-machined aluminum.

Skunk Works
Skunk2 Racing Megapower cat-back exhaust systems are now available for the WRX. All Skunk2 Megapower systems are dyno tested to provide maximum flow and a power increase over a broad range. Like the rest of the line, the WRX unit incorporates S2's lightweight Super N1 design and full T-304 stainless-steel construction. Mandrel bends, CNC cut flanges and robotic TIG welds are also incorporated for maximum performance, great looks and extreme durability. The exhaust also features a single 102mm polished tip embossed with an acid-etched Skunk2 logo, as well as a silencer that can be removed on a whim.

Strip Shocks
KONI and Jerry Bickel Race Cars have teamed to take rear shock technology for drag applications to another level. The result is the KONI 2846 Electric Shock. This shock absorber is a four-way adjustable unit that allows down track bump and rebound adjustments to be made using simple timer settings. According to KONI, the 2846 series features a wider range of settings available than any other shock on the planet, a must for the new tires and traction compounds currently used in drag racing.

Hybrid Header
Imagine Engineering has released a new 4-2-1 hybrid stepped header for the H22A/Civic hybrid owner. The header's unique design was engineered to produce more top-end power and a broader mid-range powerband. Each header is fully TIG welded, constructed from 1010 mild steel or T-304 stainless, and includes all necessary smog fittings. Each also features a 2.5-inch collector, 3/8-inch CNC flange, and mandrel-bent tubing. Exhaust ports are deburred and hand-ported for optimal exhaust flow. Each header can be optionally powdercoated or pre-wrapped with header wrap.

RAM It Home
RAM Clutches is proud to introduce what it calls the first truly new clutch design for front-wheel-drive sport compacts. The RAM Revolution clutch system uses a lever-style release mechanism similar to the company's clutch systems used in high-horsepower RWD Pro Import, Pro Stock, and Pro Modified classes. By using levers vs. a diaphragm pressure spring, the clutch is able to achieve moderate initial clamping pressure, followed by centrifugal loading from the clutch levers. This translates into less driver pedal effort and increased holding power as the engine accelerates. Additionally, the Revolution unit uses a steel-backed facing organic disc for very smooth engagement and smooth application of power throughout the rpm range.

Proxes4
There's a new Toyo in town, and it's called the Proxes4. Designed primarily for plus-size applications, this all-season high-performance radial offers a blend of style and performance with aggressive grip in both wet and dry road conditions. The Proxes4 features a curved center rib for superior driveability, as well as paired shoulder blocks to stabilize the tire and improve cornering grip. A UTQG traction rating of Grade AA is accomplished using DSOC II computer technology, resulting in a unique tread pattern that provides proper water drainage.

Sleeve This
Darton has announced the latest revision of its popular Modular Integrated Deck (MID) kits, which incorporates new "register fins" on the sleeves' exterior. The fins should significantly increase strength. Additionally, they effectively double the sleeve exterior surface area for improved heat transfer and dissipation. Head in the Game
According to the company, Jackson Auto Machine has devoted more than three years to developing and testing the first CNC-ported cylinder head available for Mitsubishi's 4G63 engine. This head offers higher flow for improved performance. Jackson also includes revised competition valve and seat parameters to match the port design, allowing this head to support a claimed 550 hp.
